Servants of a King
Romans 12:1
Over the past few weeks, I have been reminded of how we as Christians are expected by the Lord to give Him our lives. If we are truly His child, then we are a servant of Christ. Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Friend, it is merely reasonable to give the Lord your life because of what He has given to you. Far too many times I find myself thinking of how I would like my life to be, without even giving one thought of what the Lord wants from my life. Sadly, that is the state of many Christian lives today. We are lacking a servant’s heart, and because of it, the world is suffering.
Let us never forget the greatest servant of all, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We see in the Gospels, that the Lord of Lords and King of Kings kneeled down and washed his disciple’s dirty feet. This pictures a servant’s heart and serves as an example for us. Friends we serve a King, the greatest King of all. Let us not be selfish with our lives, but present it a living sacrifice to Our Lord and King.
